Honda is going to reveal the production version of the 2018 Civic Type R in just a few days at the Geneva Motor Show. Fortunately two leaked images of the new Type R have leaked online ahead of its debut.
Autocar has posted these two photos that confirm that the 218 Civic Type R won’t differ too much from the prototype version that we’ve seen over the past year on the auto show circuit. We’ll have to wait until the show to get all the details, but we do know that the new Civic Type R will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0L engine that’s mated to a standard six-speed manual. The 300+ horsepower will also only be sent to the front wheels.
The new Civic Type R will be sold globally, which means that it will arrive in the U.S. sometime later this year.
