2017 Nissan GT-R arrives this summer with styling updates and more power

Nissan continues to improve the GT-R and today the automaker has unveiled the latest updates to its flagship sports car. The 2017 GT-R gets some modest styling updates, a redesigned interior and even more power under the hood.

On the outside the 2017 GT-R now features a larger version of Nissan’s “V-motion” grille that has a matte chrome finish and an updated mesh pattern. The hood has also been redesigned with more pronounced character lines and even the front lip spoiler and front bumper are updated. From the side, the side sills are now pushed out more to direct more air flow underneath the GT-R and the rear gets some styling updates as well with the highlight being the quad exhaust tips.

Inside the 2017 GT-R gets a new dashboard that features an instrument panel that is wrapped in a single, seamless piece of hand-selected Nappa leather. The center dashboard also now has less buttons thanks to new integrated navigation and audio controls. The cushion layer of the instrument panel leather has been updated with a new, thinner material to reduce weight, and the front seats themselves are also lighter, thanks to a new side-support construction method. The shift paddles are also now mounted a new steering wheel.

The 3.8L V6 24-valve twin-turbocharged engine now generates 565 horsepower at 6800 rpm and 467 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 20-hp and 4 lb-ft. the six-speed dual-clutch transmission has also been refined to provide smoother shits and the new lightweight titanium exhaust system and Active Sound Enhancement system will definitely make other driver’s drool at the sound of the GT-R zooming by them.
