Earlier this month Ford revealed the all-new 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor at the Detroit Auto Show. Ford revealed that it will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5L EcoBoost V6 instead of the current 6.2L V8, but one thing Ford failed to reveal was the V6’s power specs. Well now we know that the 3.5L V6 will generate a nice 450 horsepower, according to Ford’s head of Global Product Development, Raj Nair.

During a Fox Sports TV interview at the 24 Hours of Daytona, Nair confirmed that the 3.5L V6 will generate more power than the current 6.2L V8. The current V8 generates 411 horsepower and 434 lb-ft. of torque. We’ll have to wait a bit longer to see how much torque the V6 generates, but we do know that it will be mated to a new 10-speed automatic transmission.

The twin-turbocharged 3.5L EcoBoost will also power the new Ford GT supercar, which Ford says will generate more than 600 horsepower.
