Ford has unveiled the updated 2017 Escape crossover, which is debuting this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Ford has unveiled the updated 2017 Escape crossover, which is debuting this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show. On the outside the 2017 Escape borrows many styling cues from the larger Edge, while two new engines and a long list of new tech features are sure to keep the Escape competitive with rivals, like the CR-V and Rogue.
The 2017 Escape gets a completely revamped face with an Edge-like grille, new headlights and a redesigned bumper. New wheels are also part of the mix and as you move towards the back you’ll notice new taillights.

While the exterior does get some updates, there are bigger changes to the 2017 Escape. First the 2017 Escape is now available with two new turbocharge EcoBoost engines – a 1.5L and 2.0L twin-scroll. The 1.5L generates 180 horsepower and 185 lb-ft. of torque, while the 2.0L packs 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft. Both engines come with Auto Start-Stop technology. The 2.5L base four-cylinder engine carries over.
The Escape now comes in S, SE and Titanium trim levels and a new Sport Appearance Package is available for the SE and Titanium.
On the technology front the 2017 Escape is available with driver-assist technology, like active park assist, lane-keeping system and adaptive cruise control. The 2017 Escape is also the first Ford model to be available with SYNC Connect app, which allows users to unlock doors, check fuel level and even locate the vehicle when it’s parked.
The 2017 Escape will be available in the spring.
