2017 Chevy Colorado ZR2 is off-road ready

Chevy has unveiled the ultimate off-road ready version of the Colorado midsize pickup – the 2017 Colorado ZR2. According to Chevy, the Colorado ZR2 packs the most off-road technology of any other pickup in its segment.

Compared to the standard Colorado, the Colorado ZR2 features a wider track and a lifted suspension. The front and rear track have been widened by 3.5-inches with new cast-iron control arms for greater durability. It also gets functional rockers for better performance over rocks and obstacles, and the front and rear bumpers have been modified for better off-road clearance.

The Colorado ZR2 also gets front and rear electronic locking differentials, an available diesel engine, and the first off-road application of Multimatic Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve damper technology.

Buyers can choose between the new 308-hp 3.6L V6 that is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission or the 181-hp diesel that generates a healthy 369 lb-ft. of torque.
