Mazda has been hard at work revamping its entire lineup with new models like the CX-5, the Mazda6 sedan and most recently the 2014 Mazda3, which arrives this fall. With most of its current lineup being redesigned that leaves the Mazda2 hatchback as one of the oldest models in the Mazda lineup. Well Mazda2 fans won’t have to wait to long for the next-generation. This magazine scan from a magazine in Japan possibly gives us our first look at the next Mazda2.
The next Maxda2 will adopt Mazda’s latest Kodo design language, while under the hood we can expect a version of Mazda’s Skyactiv engine technology, possibly as a 1.5L or 2.0L engine. The next Mazda2 is also reportedly going to be built off a shortened version of the CX-5 platform.

Although Mazda hasn’t announced anything about the next Mazda2 or Demio as it’s known in Japan, we can expect to see it debut sometime next year.
