BMW has taken the wraps off the second-generation 2015 BMW X5 M and X6 M models ahead of their world debut at the LA Auto Show next month. Both models are powered by a 567-hp 4.4L V8, which is enough power for a 0-60 mph time of 4.0 seconds.

The twin-turbocharged 4.4L V8 has three percent more horsepower and 10 percent more torque than the outgoing engine with 567-hp and 553 lb-ft. of torque. At the same time fuel consumption on the European cycle has been improved by 20 percent and CO2 emissions are also down by more than 20 percent. The V8 is mated to a standard eight-speed M Steptronic transmission.

On the outside, both the X5 M and X6 M models let you know that they are packing more power under the hood with a more aggressive face that includes larger air intakes. Both models also get side gills with a model badge and Air Breathers, signature M exterior mirrors in twin-stalk style, a typically M four-tailpipe exhaust system and a rear spoiler (for the BMW X6 M). Lastly all that power is sent to the ground via 21-inch M alloy wheels.
