Although the new Liberty is going to be unveiled in just over a month, it still hasn’t been confirmed if it will be called the Liberty, Cherokee or something entirely new.
Whatever the replacement is called, it will become more carlike than before thanks to a platform borrowed from Alfa Romeo, while still maintaining its off-road capability. Spy shots have revealed that it will get a new independent rear suspension. According to sources it could be powered either by a 3.2L or 3.6L V6 mated to a nine-speed transmission.
