BMW is going to officially unveil the production version of the 2014 BMW i8 next week on September 10, but the first photos have already leaked. The production version will remain very close to the concept, with the biggest change being the deletion of the see through doors.
The interior of the i8 will look similar to other BMW models. The i8 will be powered by a 231-horsepower 1.5L turbocharged three-cylinder engine that sends its power to the rear wheels. While a 131-horsepower electric motor will power the front wheels. The i8 will be capable of reaching 0-62 mph in 4.5 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph. It will also have an electric driving range around 22 miles.
Stay tuned for all the details next week.
