2013 BMW X1 Gets Up to 33 MPG and Starts at $31,545

BMW has released more photos and information for the updated 2013 BMW X1 that will officially be offered in the U.S. this fall.

BMW has released more photos and information for the updated 2013 BMW X1 that will officially be offered in the U.S. this fall. The 2013 X1 will be the smallest crossover in the BMW’s US lineup and will be powered by a 240-hp 2.0L 4-cylinder engine or a more powerful 300-hp six-cylinder. The starting price for the X1 will start at $31,545.

The X1 sDrive28i and xDrive28i feature BMW’s 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo
4-cylinder engine. It’s mated to an 8-speed transmission and generates 240-hp and 260 lb-ft. of torque. This combination powers the X1 sDrive28i and xDrive28i from 0-60 mph in 6.2 and 6.3 seconds respectively. BMW has announced the preliminary EPA mileage estimates are 24 mpg city/33 mpg highway/27 mpg combined for the X1 sDrive28i while the AWD X1 xDrive28i has preliminary EPA estimates of 22 mpg city/30 mpg highway/25 mpg combined.

The more powerful X1 xDrive35i starts at $39,345 and is powered by a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine with 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft. of torque. The six-cylinder engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. According to BMW the xDrive35i reaches 0-60 mph in just 5.3 seconds. EPA mileage estimates for this model are 18 mpg city/27 mpg highway/21 mpg combined.
