The 2012 Nissan Versa is expected to debut this month at the New York Auto Show and be based heavily on the Nissan Sunny.

The Nissan Sunny was unveiled last year at the Guangzhou Auto Show and is said to be the basis for the next-generation Versa. The next-Versa will share most of the body work and mechanicals with the Sunny we see here. 2012_Nissan_Versa_sketch.jpg

Nissan hasn’t said much about the new Versa other than a single sketch that was released last October. Nissan has stated that it plans to unveil a new small car at the New York Auto Show, but no other details were given.

The 2012 Versa will go on sale later this year and will be built on Renault-Nissan’s B platform that is the basis for the Nissan March/Micra and the Sunny.
