According to sources at the LA Auto Show the upcoming Chevy Volt will not look like the concept.

The source who spoke with Bob Lutz quoted the exec as saying that the Volt will not look like the concept due to wind tunnel testing, which has proven that the Volt can get better gas mileage if it is a different shape. Lutz told the media last week that the Volt should be on sale by November 2010. Pricing is expected to start at less than $30,000 and GM is hoping to sell 60,000 units in its first year.
