2008 Subaru Tribeca… Dude Looks Like a Chrysler!

Subaru has unveiled the heavily revised 2008 Subaru Tribeca that will be unveiled at the New York Auto Show in a few days.

Ever since the introduction of this SUV, Subaru has taken criticism for the controversial front end. Because of this, sales never took off. For 2008 Subaru has removed the controversial front end for something much more bland. The new grille looks like it was chiseled off the new Chrysler Aspen. That is not necessarily a complement.

Subaru also enlarged the engine, it is now a 3.6L 256hp boxer engine that runs on regular unleaded (the previous engine required premium fuel). They also modified the 5-speed transmission and made some other modifications to the styling to improve visibility.

Although the old front end was controversial, it looked a lot better than this version. This version is incredibly bland and no longer stands out among the many other crossovers in the neighborhood shopping mall. Subaru is known for its wonderful technical advancements, but styling is definitely not one of their high points. Look at the new 2008 Subaru Impreza as another example.
