2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Revealed…but Who Can Tell the Difference?

Chrysler has revealed the refreshed 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Notable changes for the new year are a new 4.7L V8 engine, and styling changes inside and out.

The 4.7L V8 delivers better fuel economy, power and torque than the previous 4.7L engine. It has 291 horsepower (24% improvement) and 322 lb.-ft. of torque (6% improvement). The engine is also flex-fuel capable, which allows the drivers of the Grand Cherokee the ability to use up to 85% concentration of ethanol (E85) to fuel the SUV.

The engine lineup for the 2008 Grand Cherokee will be:
3.0L V6 diesel, 3.7L V6, 4.7L V8, 5.7L V8 Hemi, and the 6.1L Hemi V8 that is standard on the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8.

From a styling standpoint the front end is revised with new rounded headlights and a revised lower grille and bumper.

Too bad the Commander has cannibalized the sales of the Grand Cherokee. They haven’t released pictures of the interior yet, but lets hope that it looks better, with higher quality materials.
