McLaren is bringing a unique version of the new McLaren Senna to the 2018 Geneva Motor Show next week. The special Senna will debut with a new Visual Carbon Fiber theme, which is one of five themes that the has been created by McLaren Special Operations (MSO).
The Visual Carbon Fiber exterior is the most significant feature of the McLaren Senna Carbon Theme. The body is made of 67 parts and takes almost 1,000 hours to produce. There’s Solar Yellow trim on the sill exteriors, rear wing and front active aero blades, while Laurel Green brake calipers are inspired by the helmet colors of the legendary Brazilian Formula 1 racing driver.
Inside the Solar Yellow and Laurel Green color theme continues with the door gas strut in Laurel Green and the contrast stitching on the Carbon Black Alcantara trim on seats, door inners and facia. The steering wheel also has a yellow leather center band. Both seats feature a Senna “S” on the headrest, which is the same “S” on the rear wing. The Visual Carbon Fiber theme isn’t cheap, since it adds £300,000 to the price of the McLaren Senna, which already starts at £750,000.
McLaren Special Operations is also using the show to show off its new McLaren Senna wheel option in Geneva. The standard wheel is available in three finishes, but the new MSO 7-Spoke, Hybrid Carbon Fiber Wheel is the only alternative design available from McLaren for the car. The best part is that it’s 10 percent lighter than the standard wheel.
