McLaren has released the first photos of the next model from the McLaren Ultimate Series, which is codenamed the McLaren BP23. The BP23 is based on the 720S, but the most exciting detail is that McLaren says that it will be “the fastest ever McLaren.”

The BP23 is powered by a hybrid powertrain and will have a 1+2 seating layout, like the original McLaren F1. The BP23 prototype still features the 720S body, but there are a few unique details with the biggest change being its seating layout. The prototype also has fully digital rearview mirrors, which McLaren is considering for rear world use, although they aren’t technically legal in most markets.

As the successor to the iconic P1, the BP23 will likely feature some insane performance numbers. The P1 also featured a hybrid powertrain with 902 horsepower and could reach 62 mph in 2.8 seconds. The BP23 will arrive in 2019, but sadly McLaren will only produce 106 units. Even worse – all those 106 units have already been spoken for.
