Following the debut of the 2019 Land Rover Discovery SVX, Jaguar Land Rover has revealed that it is working on a range of hardcore off-road ready models that will all wear the SVX badge.

The Land Rover will make more hardcore off-road models, like the Discovery SVX and even an SVX version of the upcoming Land Rover Defender, but don’t expect to see any and SVX-badged Range Rover models. Land Rover design boss Gerry McGovern recently revealed that the new hard core models aren’t going to be applied to any of the Range Rover models.

Jaguar could also use the SVX badge for more hardcore versions of its SUVs, like the F-Pace and upcoming E-Pace. “We don’t talk a lot about the [off-road] ability of our cars because they’re road-biased,” Jaguar design director Ian Callum explained. “But they could have that capability as we have the tech in the group. I see the opportunity – if Land Rover can do SVR, we can do SVX.”
