When Jeep announced the updates to the 2019 Jeep Wrangler a few weeks ago, it left off any mention of the diesel-powered Wrangler. While we still don’t know exactly when it’s going to arrive in dealers, it looks like dealers are able to order the Wrangler diesel now.

2019 Jeep Wrangler

Order codes for the Jeep Wrangler diesel have been discovered by JL Wrangler Forums, that shows that the diesel-powered Wrangler is now in the ordering system. The 3.0L V6 diesel engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and will be offered in the Sport, Sahara and Rubicon trim levels.

Jeep has yet to announce the specs for the Wrangler’s 3.0L diesel, but if it could be close to the 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft. that the diesel generates in the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The Wrangler diesel is labeled as order code 26 in the ordering system, but there’s also order code 22, which we don’t know what that is yet. There’s a possibility that order code 22 could be for models equipped with the diesel engine and a six-speed manual, but we’ll have to wait and see. Order code 25 is also in the system, which is used for the upgraded 3.6L V6 with the belt start generator.
