There has been some speculation for a while now that Hyundai is working on a coupe version of the Elantra. It was reported that the Elantra Coupe would be unveiled at the LA Auto Show next week, but now it’s been confirmed that it will debut at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show in February.

The Elantra Coupe will retain many of the same styling elements as the sedan, but will be a bit sportier. The coupe is also going to have a sportier driving experience thanks to different gear ratios.

Hyundai has also confirmed that the five-door Elantra, known as the i30 in Europe, will arrive in the U.S. in 2013. The new five-door Elantra will not be called the Elantra Touring, but its new name hasn’t been disclosed.
