Hyundai has announced that the 2022 Hyundai Tucson is one of the safest compact SUVs that you can buy, since it earned the highest safety rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) – Top Safety Pick+.
To qualify for the Top Safety Pick+ rating, vehicles must earn good ratings in all six IIHS crashworthiness tests, including the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. It must also be available with a front crash prevention system that earns advanced or superior ratings and good or acceptable headlights must be standard across trim levels.
The 2022 Tucson is available with two different headlight systems. The optional LED projectors earned a good rating, while the standard LED reflectors received an acceptable rating. Both of the Tucson’s front crash prevention systems earned a superior rating.
