2016 Hyundai Equus

Hyundai’s flagship sedan, the Equus is getting a few updates for the 2016 model year. The biggest update is a new hands-free smart trunk that automatically opens when the driver is simply standing for a few seconds within a few feet of the trunk with the Equus key in their pocket or purse.

Its operation is similar to other automakers who offer automatic opening trunks, but Hyundai’s system doesn’t make the driver kick near a sensor below the trunk to activate the hands-free operation. The 2016 Equus is also offered with the Blue Link safety, service and infotainment telematics system. It also comes standard with one year of complimentary Blue Link Connected Care. Connected Care is a suite of safety and car care features providing Hyundai owners with free proactive services including automatic collision notification, SOS emergency assistance, enhanced roadside assistance, monthly vehicle health reporting and maintenance alerts.

Other than that the 2016 Equus continues on with out any other big updates. It’s still powered by a standard 5.0L V8 with 429 horsepower and 375 lb-ft. of torque that is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
