Ford has announced the availability of a new FX2 Package for the Ranger, which increases the off-road capability of the two-wheel drive models.

The Ranger FX2 Package adds an electronic-locking rear differential, off-road tires, off-road-tuned suspension, front underbody guard and an off-road cluster screen. “FX2 expands Ranger’s options for customers who want tough, off-road style with the functionality of a locking differential but don’t need four-wheel drive,” said Brian Bell, Ford Ranger marketing manager.

The FX2 Package adds either 17- or 18-inch off-road tires, a front underbody guard and air dam-delete to protect the underbody and also improve the approach angles. The off-road tuned suspension and locking rear differential will increase traction and the Ranger’s performance off-road.

The FX2 Package lists for $595 and will arrive in late 2019.
