A few days ago Fiat released a teaser video of the 2019 Fiat 124 Spider Abarth that hinted at a new exhaust system for the roadster. Now Fiat has revealed that the 2019 Fiat 124 Spider Abarth is available with a new Record Monza Exhaust system that “provides the unmistakable voice of Abarth.”

In addition to the new exhaust system, there are a few other additions to the 2019 Fiat 124 Spider. All models now come standard with a rear backup camera and a 7-inch touchscreen display. A new Veleno Appearance Group for the 124 Spider Abarth also adds a red lower fascia lip, mirror caps and tow hook, a bright dead pedal and Abarth-branded floor mats and badges.

There’s also a new Ceramic Gray exterior color and custom center-stripe design options, including “Double Rally Stripe” and “Retro Stripe” on the 124 Spider Classica models.

Under the hood the 2019 Fiat 124 Spider is powered by a 1.4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates 160 horsepower and 184 lb-ft. of torque if you choose the Classica or Lusso trim levels. The 124 Spider Abarth generates slightly more power at 164 horsepower and 184 lb-ft. This means that the 124 Spider’s cousin, the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata now generates more horsepower than the base 124 Spider with its 181 horsepower, but the 124 Spider still has more torque than the MX-5 Miata’s 151 lb-ft.
