Mercedes-Benz and Audi Four-Door Convertibles Will be Here by 2011

According to Motor Trend the Mercedes-Benz Ocean Drive concept car has been approved for production in the 2011 model year. The concept was unveiled at the North American International Auto Show at Detroit last January. It was based on the Mercedes S600 sedan with a 5.5L V-12 pumping out 510 horsepower.

The car will start at around $120,000 when it debuts.

Audi is also reportedly working on an A7 cabriolet version of the upcoming A7 sedan that will come out in early 2011. The A7 sedan will arrive before the convertible in 2009 as a direct competitor to the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, as a “four-door sport coupe.” The A7 will be cheaper than the S-class.
