Audi has taken the wraps off the third-generation 2015 Audi TT and TTS on the eve of the Geneva Motor Show. After seeing several leaked photos and teasers what we see here is not all that surprising. The 2015 TT gets an evolutionary redesign that has some more aggressive angles and lines, but overall looks very close to its predecessor.

Rather than a completely revamped TT, the design of the 2015 Audi TT focuses more on the details. From the front the TT’s face is dominated by horizontal lines and the Singleframe grille is broader and flatter than before. Starting in the top corners of the grille, sharp contours run in a V across the hood, which bears the four Audi rings like on the Audi R8. The headlights also have a flat, more aggressive look.

The optional Matrix LED headlights consist of 12 LEDs and cool dynamic turn signals that light up sequentially in the direction in which the driver is steering. The predictive cornering light uses navigation data to move the cone of light into the curve before the steering wheel is turned.

From the side the TT’s profile is reminiscent of the first-generation TT and its wheelbase has also been stretched, even though the new TT’s length remains the same. Outback the TT’s taillights mimic the design of the headlights and even feature the same dynamic turn signals. Audi also says that the new TT is about 110 pounds lighter than the last model.

Under the hood there will be three four-cylinder turbocharged engines available when the TT launches. There are two 2.0L TFSI engines with 230 horsepower in the TT and 310 horsepower in the TTS. A 2.0L TDI diesel engine with 184 horsepower and 280 lb-ft. of torque is also available. The TT with the 2.0L engine will reach 0-62 mph in as little as 5.3 seconds with the six-speed S tronic transmission, while the TTS takes only 4.7 seconds to reach 62 mph.

We still have to wait to see the TT convertible and the even hotter TT RS, which is expected to have up to 380 horsepower.
