Following the debut of the 2019 Acura RDX prototype in Detroit earlier this year, Acura has announced that the production version of the 2019 RDX will debut at the upcoming New York Auto Show. Acura is also going to show off the sportier 2019 Acura RDX A-Spec at the show.

2019 Acura RDX Prototype

The 2019 RDX A-Spec marks the first time that Acura has created a sportier A-Spec version of its popular crossover. In this single teaser photo of the A-Spec version, we can see that it will arrive will get sportier styling and more aggressive wheels compared to the standard RDX. We’ll have to wait until the show to see what other upgrades the A-Spec version adds.

2019 Acura RDX Prototype

The 2019 RDX is based on a new Acura specific platform and it also is the first model to introduce Acura’s new design language. The old V6 has been replaced by a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder that’s mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, but if you choose all-wheel drive, you’ll be happy to know that Acura’s Super-Handling All Wheel Drive system is available.

The 2019 RDX will arrive by mid-2018.
