The refreshed 2018 Mazda6 debuted a few months ago at the LA Auto Show with updated styling and a new turbocharged 2.5L four-cylinder option. When Mazda unveiled the 2018 Mazda6 it revealed that the turbocharged engine would generate 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft. of torque, but it didn’t reveal how fuel efficient it will be.
The EPA has revealed that the 2018 Mazda6 with the 2.5L turbo is rated at 23 mpg in the city, 31 mpg on the highway and 26 mpg combined. The turbocharged engine is only available with a six-speed automatic. If you decide to opt for the naturally aspirated 2.5L with the six-speed automatic transmission, it’s rated at 25/35/29 mpg, while the manual version is rated at 24/33/27 mpg.
The turbocharged engine’s ratings put it on par with the 2018 Honda Accord 2.0T with its 23/34 mpg rating and the Toyota Camry V6, which is rated at 22/33 mpg.
