The GT-PHEV concept features the automaker’s latest design language, which according to Mitsubishi projects the image of a “ground tourer” with its Functional Beauty, Augmented Possibility, Sculptured Dynamism and Japanese Craftsmanship. The concept is powered by a triple-motor plug-in hybrid system that combines a next-generation high-capacity drive battery package, three high-output and high-efficiency motors and an engine designed especially for the PHEV system.

The concept can travel up to 75 miles in electric mode and has a combined hybrid cruising range of over 745 miles. The triple-motor powertrain, with one unit at the front and two at the rear, delivers a dramatic improvement in the performance of its full-time four-wheel drive powertrain.

Mitsubishi will also have the eX Concept, a compact SUV powered by a next-generation EV system, and the 2017 European market versions of the Outlander and Outlander PHEV.
