Last week Mercedes-Benz announced plans to introduce a new sub-brand of electric vehicles, BMW already has its i sub-brand, but it wants to stay ahead of its competitors. BMW has confirmed that it is working on fully-electric versions of the next-generation X3 and a new MINI model.
BMW CEO Harald Krueger recently revealed that the MINI EV will arrive by 2019, with the electric BMW X3 EV set to debut by 2020. Even though BMW has not released any new models for its i sub-brand, the automaker has started to release plug-in hybrid versions of its mainstream models, like the 3 Series and X5.
