Sketches of the Q8 e-tron concept were released by German news site Welt who interviewed Audi chief designer, March Lichte about the upcoming Q8. The flagship SUV will adopt more coupe-like styling than the Q7, but will be based on the same MLB-EVO platform.

Lichte was careful to not give too many details away about the Q8, but he did say there are some changes in store for Audi’s design language, which has grown a bit stale. “From some customers’ point-of-view, we lacked the necessary differentiation. This will change in the future. Every new Audi model will have its own character and express it in its formal language – both in the exterior and in the interior.”

One of the big changes will be an update to Audi’s singleframe front grille, which will be previewed with the Q8 e-tron concept.
