Ford has unveiled the updated 2018 F-150, which gets a facelift, but the most noteworthy addition is a new 3.0L diesel engine.
It’s already been three years since Ford introduced the aluminum bodied F-150 and for 2018 all F-150 models will receive new grilles, headlamps and bumpers to give the truck and even tougher look. There are also six new wheel designs, ranging from 17 inches to 22 inches. The rear gets a new sculpted tailgate with a stamped “F-150” and new taillamp designs.

Under the hood the 2018 F-150 gets a completely revamped engine lineup with the addition of a new 3.0L diesel engine. The 3.0-liter Power Stroke diesel engine is the first diesel engine ever offered in the F-150. It was designed in-house and is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The base F-150 is now powered by a new 3.3L V6, which should generate the same 282 horsepower and 253 lb.-ft. of torque as the previous 3.5-liter V6.

An all-new second-generation 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine features advanced dual port and direct injection technology and will be paired exclusively with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The 5.0-liter V8 also sees improvements in 2018, as the naturally aspirated engine features significant upgrades for increased power and torque. It’s also paired with the 10-speed automatic transmission for the first time.
