Tesla CEO, Elon Musk has released a teaser of Tesla’s new electric semi truck that is going to be revealed later this year during an interview with TED organizer Chris Anderson. Tesla is getting ready to expand its car/ SUV lineup into heavy duty trucks, which could have the potential to forever change the large truck industry.

According to Elon Musk, the Tesla semi truck will “out-torque any diesel semi” and be agile “like a sports car.” Not sure anyone has every said that they wished a cargo hauling semi truck handled like a sports car, but either way it should be interesting. What will be more interesting is what impact an electric semi truck could have on the shipping industry. Tesla expects the electric truck to be able to significantly reduce shipping costs.
