It’s being reported that the small and funky Nissan Juke is going to be discontinued soon and will be replaced by the more traditionally styled Nissan Kicks. Nissan hasn’t confirmed anything, but sources claim that the Juke could die after the 2017 or 2018 model year.

The Nissan Juke originally debuted in 2010 as one of the first subcompact crossovers to hit the market, but it’s weird styling and awkward face made it a bit polarizing. Nissan did eventually decide to amp up the “sport” in the Juke lineup with the Nismo model, but sales have declined with just under 20k units sold last year, which was down from almost 40k in 2014.

If the reports are true, the Kicks will replace the Juke, but will still offer the same 1.6L turbocharged engine. It’s not known if all-wheel drive will continue to be an option, which would mean that the Kicks would be like the front-wheel drive only Toyota CH-R.
