Fiat 500X Crossover Officially Debuts in Paris

Fiat has officially unveiled its newest model, the 500X crossover at the Paris Motor Show today.

Fiat has officially unveiled its newest model, the 500X crossover at the Paris Motor Show today. The 500X is now the sixth member of the 500 family and will be sold in more than 100 countries worldwide, including the U.S.

The 500X shares its platform with the Jeep Renegade and will compete with a growing number of small crossovers, like the Honda HR-V, Nissan Juke and Chevy Trax.

In Europe the engine line-up for the 500X features a range of gas and diesel engines with a 138-hp 1.4 Turbo MultiAir II gas engine with front-wheel drive and 6-speed manual transmission, a 118-hp 1.6 MultiJet II diesel also with front-wheel drive and 6-speed manual and a 138-hp 2.0 MultiJet II diesel with 9-speed automatic and 4-wheel drive being available at launch.

A 184-hp Tigershark 2.4-liter with a 9-speed automatic and 4-wheel drive and a 168-hp 1.4 Turbo MultiAir II with a 9-speed automatic will eventually be added to the lineup.

The 500X offers a Drive Mode Selector that features three modes for engine, brake, steering and transmission settings: Auto, Sport and All weather.
