Lincoln has lowered the pricing for the new, second-generation MKX crossover, which is now priced at $38,995, down from $39,795 for the old 2015 model. At launch the 2016 MKX will be offered in three trim levels: Premiere, Select and Reserve. A Black Label version will also eventually be offered.
The price cut is likely in response to the MKX’s dipping sales, which have dropped almost 50 percent since last year. The 2016 MKX, which is based on the same platform as the Ford Edge, comes standard with a 3.7L V6, while a 330-hp 2.7L EcoBoost V6 is optional.

Only time will tell if the $800 price cut and the all-new model will help improve the MKX’s sales. The 2016 MKX will arrive this fall.
