Ford has announced that the 306-hp Focus RS is now arriving at showrooms in the U.S. with a starting price of $36,605. The 2016 Focus RS is powered by a turbocharged 2.3L four-cylinder that generates a nice 350 horsepower and 350 lb-ft. of torque.

The new Focus RS reaches 62 mph in just 4.7 seconds with a top speed set at 165 mph. The Focus RS comes standard with a six-speed manual and all that power is sent to the ground via an all-wheel drive system. It also has four selectable drive modes: Normal, Sport, Track and the industry-first Drift mode that allows drivers to perform controlled oversteer drifts. If you do happen to stall the engine, the Focus RS features a neat trick called stall recovery, that allows the driver to simply push the clutch back in after a stall and the engine will restart.

Although winter is still a few months away, the Focus RS is the first car in North America to offer a winter tire and wheel option as a factory accessory, featuring Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 tires, pressure monitoring sensors and fully mounted center caps, all of which were tested in the extreme cold and snow of Northern Michigan and Sweden.
