A reader sent us a photo of a 2018 Jeep Wrangler prototype testing on the streets of Los Angeles over the weekend. Although the vehicle we see here is largely covered up with camouflage, it’s easy to see that it’s the new Wrangler. Jeep has been keeping most of the details about 2018 Wrangler under wraps, but there’s a lot that we already know.

The 2018 Wrangler is expected to debut in November.

For starters, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler will initially be offered with three engine options: a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder, a 3.6L V6 and a new 3.0L V6 diesel. The engines can be mated to either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. In the future, there’s the possibility that the Wrangler will eventually get an electrified powertrain, since Jeep has already revealed that the new platform has been designed to accept an EV or hybrid powertrain.

The 2018 Wrangler is expected to debut later this year at the Los Angeles Auto Show. When the 2018 Wrangler goes on sale later this year it will be offered in five versions: the two-door Wrangler Sport and Rubicon, plus the five door Wrangler Unlimited Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon. A power soft top is also going to be optional.

We’ll likely get even more details as we get closer to the 2018 Wrangler’s debut.
