Infiniti has officially decided to kill the midsize Infiniti QX70 crossover, which will not be offered for the 2018 model year. Infiniti is dropping the QX70, which was formally known as the FX, as the brand wants to focus on its new QX50 compact crossover.

The QX70 is the second generation of the five seater crossover, which originally launched as the FX. The current model has been on the market since 2008. While the news that the QX70 isn’t too surprising, Infiniti may introduce a replacement by 2021 or 2022, which will be based on the new Nissan Murano.

For now the Infiniti is going to push its efforts to the new QX50 which is slated to arrive next year. A new QX80 is also expected to arrive in the next year.
