According to sources Chrysler is currently working on a new supercharged HEMI V8, code-named Hellcat for the Dodge Challenger. The 6.2L supercharged engine will give the Challenger what it needs to compete with the Camaro ZL1 and the Ford Shelby GT500.

The updated 2013 Nissan Leaf is now more efficient than the nearly identical 2012 model. Last year's Nissan Leaf was rated at a 99 MPGe for combined city and highway, while the 2013 Leaf now has a 115 MPGe rating. Updates to the 2013 Leaf have made it more aerodynamic and its regenerative braking system has been improved. The 2013 Leaf has a drag coefficient of 0.28 compared to 0.29 for the 2012 Leaf.

The 2013 Ford Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid has earned the highest possible "five-star" Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid joins the Ford Fusion and the Fusion Hybrid which already received five-star safety ratings. NHTSA has elected to test plug-in vehicles separately from vehicles powered by gasoline engines as the market share of electrified vehicles is increasing.

Aston Martin has taken the covers off its newest concept, the CC100 Speedster concept, which celebrates Aston Martin's 100th birthday. The one-off CC100 looks both to the past and the DBR1 - Aston Martin's greatest sporting triumph on the track - and to the future with its teasing glimpses of a potential future design direction.

Do you like the all-new 2014 Lexus IS, but want even more style? Toyota's TRD division has put together a new styling and performance kit for the new IS. The styling part of the package includes a kit that includes larger side skirts, a revised front bumper and a rear diffuser with dual exhaust. The TRD-spec IS also gets new 19-inch alloy wheels.

BMW has unveiled the updates to the entire 2014 5 Series range. The 2014 5 Series gets an updated exterior, a new diesel engine for the sedan and more available equipment. On the outside the 2014 5 Series sedan gets a revised grille and redesigned lower air intakes. The accentuated width of the rear end is underlined by an extra crease in the apron and the taillights have been updated.

As expected BMW has announced plans for a new Competition Package for the 2014 BMW M5 and M6 models. The Competition Package boosts the 4.4-liter V-8's output by 15 hp 575 hp. At the same time, the package includes an extensively tuned the chassis set-up. Along with new coil springs and damper calibrations, anti-sway bars have also been stiffened. For the BMW M5, these adjustments have resulted in a lowering of the car by around 10 millimeters. The potential inherent in the rear axle design - based on the race-derived principle of the rear axle subframe being rigidly bolted to the body - and the even more precisely calibrated bushings for the front axle are exploited with the Competition Package.

Aston Martin has released this teaser of its new concept that will be unveiled on May 19th. The new concept coincides with the celebration of Aston Martin's 100th anniversary. According to Aston Martin, the concept "encompasses the past, present and future in one exceptional design."

Chrysler has delayed the production kick for the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee by at least a month, but remains confident that inventory will be strong by the fall. We did start with an initial scheduled plan of the third week in May, and now we are into mid-June," Mark Chernoby, Chrysler's senior vice president of engineering, told the Free Press. "That is just due to a wide range of issues."

An Audi insider has revealed that the next-generation Audi Q7 will be around 800 pounds lighter than the current model. The Audi Q7 is built on the same VW platform as the VW Touareg and Porsche Cayenne and is built in Bratislava, Slovakia.

The all-new 2014 Subaru Forester has received a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The Forester is the only one of two vehicles out of 13 small SUVs to earn an overall rating of good in the test. The other model to earn the rating was the 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.

Volvo's V60 plug-in hybrid, which is also the world's first diesel plug-in hybrid, is selling higher than Volvo's initial expectations. Volvo is now ramping up production by 90 percent, just to keep up with the demand. The increased demand, especially in Holland, Belgium and Italy, means that the Plug-in Hybrid production at Volvo Cars' Torslanda plant in Sweden will be increased continuously from 150 to 282 units per week. All in all, Volvo Cars will produce 7,600 plug-in hybrids in 2013 - and the 2014 target is 10,000 units.

Today GM is talking about the amount of time that it spent with the all-new 2014 GMC Sierra pickup in a wind tunnel to benefit both its fuel efficiency and interior quietness. The photos also give us our first look at the 2014 GMC Sierra standard cab, which up until now had not been unveiled.

Porsche has released a batch of new photos of the 918 Spyder and officially confirmed the specs for the hybrid supercar. The 918 Spyder has been designed, developed and produced by Porsche engineers who build race cars, in cooperation with series production specialists. A great deal of insight gained from the development of Porsche race cars for the 24 hours race in Le Mans in 2014 is thus integrated into the 918 Spyder - and vice versa. The 918 Spyder will also act as the gene pool for the Porsche sports cars of the future.

BMW has unveiled the new M Sport edition package that is available on the 2014 BMW 6 Series Coupe, BMW 6 Series Convertible and BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe. The M Sport edition models include the M Sport package, which consists of an M aerodynamics package, 19-inch M light-alloy wheels in double-spoke design, LED foglamps, the BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line, black-painted brake callipers, exhaust tail pipes in dark chrome and Adaptive LED headlights.
