Honda has already announced plans to introduce a hybrid version of one of its “light truck” models and now we have it. Honda has unveiled the new Honda CR-V Hybrid at the Shanghai Motor Show, which is going to come to the U.S. as well.
Although the CR-V Hybrid is being unveiled in China, Honda does intend to offer it in the U.S. as well, which would give Honda a rival to the Toyota RAV4 and Nissan Rogue hybrids. A time frame hasn’t been announced, but there’s a big possibility that it could debut as soon as this fall at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The CR-V Hybrid will be powered by Honda’s “Sport Hybrid” two-motor hybrid powertrain, which is similar to the system that powers the Accord Hybrid.
