Subaru has announced that the all-new 2018 Subaru Crosstrek is going to have its US debut this month at the 2017 New York Auto Show. We originally saw the new Crosstrek last month in Geneva, but this will be the first time that we get to see it on this side of the Atlantic.

The new Crosstrek is based on the new Subaru Global Platform. According to Subaru, the new Crosstrek offers enhanced performance, safety, capability and comfort. The 2018 Crosstrek is also the second model to get Subaru’s new design language, “Dynamic x Solid.”

The 2018 Crosstrek rides on a 104.9-in. wheelbase, up 1.2-in. over the last generation Crosstrek. It’s also 0.6-inches longer and 0.9-inches wider. Under the hood, there’s a revised version of the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder Boxer engine that gets direct fuel injection and other enhancements to add four more horsepower at 152 horsepower. The 2.0i base and Premium trims come standard with a six-speed manual transmission and are available with the Lineartronic CVT. The Limited trim come standard with the CVT featuring a 7-speed manual mode function with steering wheel paddle shifters. Just as before, the Crosstrek comes standard with Symmetrical all-wheel drive.

The 2018 Crosstrek will be offered in three trim levels: 2.0i base, Premium and Limited when it arrives this summer.
