Audi RS 3 and Q8 announced for the U.S.

Audi has announced that the high-performance RS 3 and Q8 SUV will be sold in the US. Audi of America CEO Scott Keogh has confirmed that the U.S. will get a sedan version of the RS 3 rather than the hatchback that is sold in Europe.

2017 VW Golf SportWagen Alltrack confirmed for the U.S.

VW continues to expand the Golf lineup and coinciding with the arrival of the new Golf SportWagen, VW has announced that the all-wheel-drive Alltrack model will go on sale in 2016 as a 2017 model. The Alltrack model adds a 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, nearly an inch of ground clearance wheel arch moldings and flared side sills that offer body protection, newly designed bumpers, and an even more upscale interior.

2015 VW Passat Limited Edition starts at $23,995

VW has announced the introduction of a new Limited Edition version of the 2015 Passat that starts at $23,995, and supersedes the Wolfsburg and SE trim lines. The new Limited Edition model adds $2,755 worth of additional equipment to the automatic transmission S model, but costs just $1,555 more.

Audi confirms all-electric SUV in the works

This week Audi took the covers off the fully electric Audi R8 e-tron and now the automaker has confirmed plans to add another electric model to its lineup. The new electric model will be a fully electric SUV that will have a driving range of more than 311 miles on one charge.

2015 VW e-Golf gets a cheaper Limited trim and starts at $33,450

VW has announced the introduction of a new Limited Edition version of the all-electric e-Golf that starts at $33,450, almost $2,000 less than the SEL version. To get the price lower, the Limited version gets 16-inch steel wheels in place of aluminum-alloy wheels, halogen instead of LED headlights, cloth in place of leatherette seating surfaces, and deletion of the heat-pump system.

Volkswagen has released the pricing for the 2015 Golf SportWagen, which starts at $21,395 for the 1.8T S model with the manual transmission, while the TDI Clean Diesel model starts at $24,595, a reduction of almost $2,000 over the previous base TDI model price.

Volkswagen has announced that it's going to move away from the current media device interface (MDI) in its vehicles and instead will install USB ports. The current MDI system gives Apple iPhone users the ability to quickly connect their devices to the infotainment system in their VW, but Android users have had to go out an purchase an accessory adapter cable.

Volkswagen Golf GTD Variant revealed ahead of its debut in Geneva

Volkswagen has unveiled another version of the Golf Variant - the Golf GTD Variant, which is basically a wagon version of the diesel-powered Golf GTD hatchback. In Europe the Golf GTD Variant will go head-to-head with models like the Peugeot 308 SW GT and looks sportier than the standard Golf Variant thanks to its GTD-specific bumpers, grille, 17-inch alloy wheels and chrome exhaust.
