Volvo to Replace Lineup by 2018 and Add a V90 Wagon Inspired by the Concept Estate

BMW has announced that it has developed a fully-automated parking system for the i3, which will debt next month at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Unlike some other parking systems, the i3's system takes the technology to the next level, since the driver can completely exit the vehicle before it parks itself.

BMW 2 Series Borrows its 3-Cyl Engine from MINI

BMW has announced the introduction of the new BMW 218i, which will be powered by the same 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that powers in the MINI Cooper. The three-cylinder engine generates 136 hp and 162 lb-ft. of torque.

Volvo Reveals Three-Cylinder Drive-E Engine that Generates 180 hp

Three-cylinder engines are gaining in popularity thanks to Ford and MINI and now Volvo has revealed its new three-cylinder engine. The new three-cylinder engine is part of Volvo's new Drive-E engine family and generates around 180 horsepower.

"We have come a long way in the last few years at Volvo. Investments from our parent company, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, have enabled us to recapture our position as a leader in the field of powertrain engineering. The development program for the new 3-cylinder engine is very advanced and we have already begun prototype testing of the unit," says Dr. Peter Mertens, Senior Vice President Research & Development at Volvo Car Group.
