Last year Chevy revealed its new High Country trim for the Silverado pickup, which was basically Chevy's answer to the Ford King Ranch and Ram Longhorn. With 505 horsepower under the hood, Chevy's engineers had to give the 2014 Camaro Z/28 tires and brakes that can keep all that power under control. Unfortunately during initial tests, Chevy's engineers noticed that the tires were providing so much traction and the brakes so much stopping force that the wheels rotated inside the tire - not something that you hear every day.

Following Ford's segment changing 2015 F-150, which features aluminum body panels, GM is now reportedly also working on an aluminum-bodied pickup that will be introduced around 2018. Chevy has announced the availability of new bi-fuel versions of the 2015 Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD pickups. Currently CNG is priced at about 62 percent lower than gasoline, so it represents big savings. For example a work truck driven 26,000 miles a year can save more than $2,000 annually based on 75-percent CNG usage and comparable efficiency to gasoline.

The Chevy Camaro Z/28 is set to return to the track this week when the new Camaro Z/28.R race car debuts in a 2.5-hour endurance race ahead of the 52nd Rolex 24 At Daytona. Chevy says that it will be one of the most production-based cars on the track, since it shares its aero, engine and axle parts with the 2014 Camaro Z/28.

The 2014 Detroit Auto Show has kicked off with the awards for the North American Car and Truck of the Year. This year Chevy has a lot to celebrate as it took home both the Car and Truck of the Year awards for the 2014 Corvette Stingray and Silverado. It is the first time Chevrolet has won both awards in the same year. The Silverado was last named Truck of the Year in 2007 and the Corvette was last named Car of the Year in 1998.
