This year Ford is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the Ford Mustang and Chevy is getting in on the celebration. Last year Chevy revealed its new High Country trim for the Silverado pickup, which was basically Chevy's answer to the Ford King Ranch and Ram Longhorn. With 505 horsepower under the hood, Chevy's engineers had to give the 2014 Camaro Z/28 tires and brakes that can keep all that power under control. Unfortunately during initial tests, Chevy's engineers noticed that the tires were providing so much traction and the brakes so much stopping force that the wheels rotated inside the tire - not something that you hear every day.

Following Ford's segment changing 2015 F-150, which features aluminum body panels, GM is now reportedly also working on an aluminum-bodied pickup that will be introduced around 2018. In an effort to put its trucks on a serious diet, GM is going to follow Ford's move by using lighter aluminum for the next-generation of the Silverado and Sierra pickups.

Chevy has announced the availability of new bi-fuel versions of the 2015 Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD pickups. Currently CNG is priced at about 62 percent lower than gasoline, so it represents big savings. For example a work truck driven 26,000 miles a year can save more than $2,000 annually based on 75-percent CNG usage and comparable efficiency to gasoline.

The Chevy Camaro Z/28 is set to return to the track this week when the new Camaro Z/28.R race car debuts in a 2.5-hour endurance race ahead of the 52nd Rolex 24 At Daytona. Chevy says that it will be one of the most production-based cars on the track, since it shares its aero, engine and axle parts with the 2014 Camaro Z/28.

The 2014 Detroit Auto Show has kicked off with the awards for the North American Car and Truck of the Year. This year Chevy has a lot to celebrate as it took home both the Car and Truck of the Year awards for the 2014 Corvette Stingray and Silverado. It is the first time Chevrolet has won both awards in the same year. The Silverado was last named Truck of the Year in 2007 and the Corvette was last named Car of the Year in 1998.

Chevrolet has announced that starting this summer some of its models will be available with high-speed data - made possible by a new OnStar 4G LTE connection, running on AT&T's network. Chevrolet has announced the pricing for the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, which is priced at $75,000. The 2014 Camaro Z/28 will go on sale this spring and is powered by a 7.0L LS7 engine with 505 horsepower and 481 lb-ft. of torque that is mated to a standard six-speed manual transmission.

Chevy has released the pricing for the all-new 2015 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban SUVs, which will see their prices rise between $1,000 to $3,000 when they officially go on sale in the spring. The base price for the 2015 Tahoe is $45,595, while the 2015 Suburban starts at $48,295. Both SUVs start $1,000 higher than the current 2014 models.

GM has unveiled a new version of the 2015 Chevrolet Impala that can run on either gasoline or natural gas. GM is now the only automaker that will produce a full-size bi-fuel sedan, which will go on sale next summer. When the current Chevy Malibu debuted last last year, it was introduced with a mild-hybrid eAssist system standard. Well there were several issues with the launch of the Malibu in 2013 and Chevy has made a host of changes to the 2014 model, which also includes a new more efficient four-cylinder base engine, which means that the un-loved mild-hybrid Malibu Eco is gone.
