2017 Honda Civic Hatchback starts at $20,535

Honda has announced that the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback is going to arrive in showrooms in a few days with a starting price set at $20,535 for the base LX trim level with a 6-speed manual transmission.

The Civic Hatchback is the third addition to the 10th generation Civic lineup that already includes the sedan and coupe models. The Civic Hatchback will be offered in five trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L Navi and a new Sport Touring version. The Civic Hatchback is only available with the turbocharged 1.5L engine that generates 174 horsepower in all models except the Sport and Sport Touring models. The Sport and Sport Touring require premium fuel, but have slightly more power at 180 horsepower. The Sport and Sport Touring models also get a dual-outlet center-mounted exhaust.

All trim levels can be mated to a CVT, while the Sport and base LX models are available with a six-speed manual. The non-Sport models are rated at 31/40 mpg with the CVT and the Sport versions with the CVT are rated at 30/36 mpg. If you choose the 6-speed manual the the Civic Hatchback is rated at 30/39 mpg.

Pricing for the Sport starts at $22,135, while the EX starts at $23,365. Honda hasn't announced the pricing for the top Sport Touring model.
