Toyota is giving the 2015 Toyota Camry an extensive midlife redesign that Toyota says is "more expressive and athletic." Responding to criticism that the current Camry is bland and boring, Toyota gave its best selling sedan a completely new look with almost 2,000 new parts.
The 2015 Camry is 1.8-inches longer and its track has been widened by 0.4-inches to give it a more dynamic stance. The front fascia gets a completely new fascia that is "FR-S Inspired" and that also looks very similar to the Avalon. A more pronounced body line also makes the Camry's profile look more muscular with a "sense of motion." It's rear is also completely new with taillights that look similar to the Corolla's.
To make the Camry a bit more fun to drive, Toyota's engineers retuned the Camary's electric power steering for better on-center feel, better straight line stability and more direct-feeling steering inputs. It's stiffer body structure combined with a retuned suspension and revised brakes should also help make it a tad more interesting on the road. The Camry will continue to be available with 2.5-liter four-cylinder or 3.5-liter V6 gas engines paired with 6-speed automatic transmissions, or a 2.5-liter Atkinson Cycle engine with Hybrid Synergy drive matched to an E-CVT.
The 2015 Camry is going to be offered in four trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE and Hybrid SE.
Inside the 2015 Camry gets more premium materials with a redesigned center console. The center console tray has been redesigned to increase capacity while offering a power source in the storage box. The new enclosed bin in front of the shifter now offers 12v, USB and available wireless charging system for select smart phones.
