2014 Toyota Vios Debuts in Bangkok for Growing Markets

Toyota has taken the wraps off the new "Vios" compact car at the Bangkok Motor Show, which is designed for first time buyers in growing markets, like Thailand. TMC Managing Officer Kyoichi Tanada said: "the Vios is not only exclusively developed for Thai customers, but also for Growing Market customers. Thailand is a leading global production hub for new Vios exports to over 80 countries around the world."

Approximately 130,000 units of the Vios are planned for production in Thailand this year, with more than 80,000 for domestic sales and more than 40,000 for export. The Toyota Vios is similar in size to the Toyota Yaris and is powered by a 109-hp 1.5L four-cylinder engine that can be mated to a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Approximately 130,000 units of the Vios are planned for production in Thailand this year, with more than 80,000 for domestic sales and more than 40,000 for export.
