Ford has announced that the 2013 Ford Fusion Energi is expected to get up to 92 MPGe on the highway, 108 MPGe in the city and have a combined 100 MPGe. That rating puts it ahead of the Toyota Prius plug-in, but slightly behind the 2014 Honda Accord plug-in hybrid, which has a 115 MPGe rating.

"The Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid is the exclamation point for Ford's transformed lineup of fuel-efficiency leaders that now beats Toyota across the board," said Raj Nair, group vice president, Global Product Development.

The 2013 Fusion Energi can travel up to 20 miles in electric mode and will start at $39,495 when it arrives next month.
