2013 Land Rover Defender Gets New Colors

While the U.S. no longer gets the Land Rover Defender, our friends in Europe can still buy one. Land Rover has given the iconic Defender a list of new colors, updated seats and a new audio system for the 2013 model year.

"The appeal of the Land Rover Defender has been strengthened with the opportunity for customers to enhance their driving comfort and also to personalise their vehicle with a range of contrast roof colours. Underpinned by the powerful 2.2-liter diesel engine and its go anywhere capability, the iconic Defender retains the rugged appeal that it's always been famous for but now with even greater customer choice," says John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director.

The 2013 Defender is now available with two new body colors, Barolo Black and Havana. Buyers can also choose between several roof colors: Fuji White, Santorini Black, Indus Silver, Orkney Grey or Firenze Red. The interior also gets new leather seats for the driver and front passenger. The base Defender comes with a a single CD player, but the new upgraded system adds an Alpine-branded Hi Line 150W low profile subwoofer system with 10cm coaxial speakers replacing the standard units.

The Defender is powered by a 2.2L diesel engine with 120 horsepower and 265 lb-ft. of torque. That's good enough for a 0-60 mph time of 14.7 seconds and a top speed of 90 mph.
