News has hit the web that the Lexus LFA with the optional Nürburgring package has lapped the infamous Nurburgring-Nordschleife in 7:14. The news comes from EVO Magazine's Chris Harris who tweeted the news.

Lexus test driver Akira Iida reportedly managed to lap the ring in the LFA Nürburgring Package in 7:14, which beats the 7:38 time for the standard LFA. The time also beats other cars like the Porsche 911 GT2, Chevy Corvette ZR1 and Dodge Viper ACR.

The Nürburgring Package adds an additional $70,000 to the $375,000 base prive of the LFA. It includes an extra 10 horsepower for the V10 engine, bringing the total to 562 horsepower. The package also adds modifications, such as a larger front spoiler, fin-type side spoilers, a canard fin and a fixed rear wing.
